Andrew Wigginton “Wiggi”
Dalhousie Tigers / VP Development SMH
Andrew “Wiggi” grew up playing Sackville Minor hockey and went on to Captain the Dartmouth Subways. From there Wiggi went on to play for Acadie Bathurst and Halifax Mooseheads at the QMJHL level. His career then saw him as the Assistant Captain for Metro Marauders Jr. A team. Currently Wiggi is the Assistant Captain for the Dalhousie Tigers, Coach Pee Wee AAA (SMH), Co-founder of Fusion Hockey & VP of Development for SMH.
Coach Cole Harbour Wolf Pack / Skating & Development Coach SMH
Neil grew up in Sackville and played along side James Sheppard. He played his high school career for Millwood Knights and from there went on to play Jr A for the Pictou Crushers, finishing his career in Jr. B for the Pictou Scotians . Neil is an X grad and is now a gym teacher, Assistant Coach for Cole Harbour Major Midget Wolf Pack and is part of the SMH development team.
Asst. Coach Valley WildCats / SMH Development Team
Rene grew up in various shady parts of NS (Hence the missing tooth on most occasions). He played at a high level his entire life with stints at major midget, US Prep school and the QMJHL with Chicoutimi. Rene scored 49 goals in 52 games as an Amherst Rambler in the Maritime Jr. A league, that’s a lot of goals! This scoring prowess continues today whether he is playing in the men’s league or shooting in practice, so Fusion goalies beware! Rene has a passion for teaching the game and has fun doing it. He is an Assistant Coach for the Valley WildCats and is part of the SMH development team.
Coach AAA – SMH
Wayne grew up playing in Sackville Minor, he also played for the Blazers and started coaching when he was 22. Wayne has coached Atom, Pee Wee and Bantam AAA for over 20 years . Coached spring hockey for the Nova Scotia Raiders. Won Provincials Titles and placed 2nd in Atlantic Championships.
Joe Johnson (Goalie Instructor)
Joe is a career coach having spent the last 20 years as a full time Goaltending coach out of Halifax Nova Scotia. He owns and operates 1 to 1 Goaltending Mentorship program and is a partner with Inside Edge Player Development. He works with local minor and major hockey programs, has mentored more than 50 local teams and associations, has spent 16 years with Dalhousie University working with the male program for 13 and entering his 16th year with the women.
He has been a member of the Advisory group of Goaltenders coaches with Hockey NS since 2008, has represented HNS at 3 Canada Games, coached with Team Atlantic, both male and female programs, and has been working very closely with Hockey Canada as a High Performance goalie coach for the past 10 years. During that time he worked with Under 18 female program, the Development Program and Hockey Canada’s senior women’s team and also attended the mens goaltender camp on 2 occasions. His current role is the U18 Program Coordinator for Hockey Canada and sees him building and delivering the U18 Goaltender model for the nation. He has also mentored coaches and goalies in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) High Performance Female Program in countries around the world.
